On our latest weekend wander, we decided to skip the big chain cafes and seek out a spot that has been on our radar for a while: The Brewman Coffee.
Known for its slow-bar philosophy and its simple, cozy slogan--“Coffee and Community”—it felt like the perfect place to unwind, chat, and write.
The Brewman isn’t your typical fast-paced, laptop-heavy workspace. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere nudges you to slow down. The interior is beautifully rustic, intimate, and warmly lit—designed more for starting conversations than for tuning out the world with noise-canceling headphones.
While it has evolved from its humble beginnings as a pandemic-era home delivery service (inspired by vintage milkmen), the cafe has kept that deeply personal, neighborhood-coffee-cart soul. It’s pet-friendly, laid-back, and a fantastic spot for people-watching if you manage to grab a seat.
Espresso & Specialty: Americano, Latte, Spanish Latte, Mocha, and Breakfast Latte.
Non-Espresso / Signature: Horchata, Dirty Horchata, Thai Milk Tea, and Mazagran (an iced coffee drink).
Pastries & Baked Goods: Partnered with Kabuki's Bakery for items like Peach Danishes, Cinnamon Rolls, and Sourdough.
The Iced Spanish Latte
As self-proclaimed espresso enthusiasts, we had our eyes set on one specific menu item: the Iced Spanish Latte.
At The Brewman, their Spanish Latte is crafted with a double shot of espresso, sweet cream, and fresh milk. Here is our honest take on how it held up:
The Espresso Base: Strong, robust, and clean. You can tell they take their craft seriously. The espresso wasn't drowned out by the dairy; instead, it cut through cleanly with a smooth, chocolatey undertone.
The Sweetness Factor: Many cafes tend to over-sweeten their Spanish Lattes with condensed milk, turning them into dessert cups. The Brewman strikes a beautiful, velvety balance. The sweet cream adds a rich, luxurious texture without masking the natural profile of the beans.
The Texture: Exceptionally smooth. As the ice slowly melted, the drink maintained its body and didn't get instantly watery.
If you are looking for a place to rush through an email sequence or study with zero distractions, the cozy, conversational nature of The Brewman might be a challenge. But if your goal is to share a great conversation, enjoy a beautifully poured slow-bar coffee, and soak up the indie creative energy of Cubao Expo, this place is an absolute gem.
We walked away with energized tastebuds and a little more appreciation for the local coffee scene. We'll definitely be back to try their filter coffees next.
