Only to arrive and find out: it’s permanently closed.
If you’ve ever walked up to a spot with your stomach already doing happy dances, only to meet a boarded-up storefront or a closed sign, you know the exact heartbreak we felt!
The Hunt for authentic Kopitiam Flavors
Mamak Kopitiam had earned a reputation for bringing reliable, affordable Malaysian and Singaporean comfort food right into the heart of the Makati Central Business District. From their signature Nasi Lemak and Roti Canai to their Hainanese Chicken and pulled Teh Tarik, it was a go-to spot whenever we wanted a break from our typical mall dining choices.
Standing outside their former Glorietta 4 space near the Food Choices area, we had to do a quick pivot. But we weren't going to let a closed location stop our craving—so we did a little digging to see where else you can catch their authentic flavors around the metro.
If you're like us and found yourself stranded without your Hainanese Chicken or Kopi fix at Glorietta, don't worry! Here is where you can still track down Mamak Kopitiam's menu:
NNIC Terminal 3 (NAIA T3) – Pre-Departure Area
Where to find it: Level 3, Domestic Food Village (Airside, past security)
Store Hours: 5:00 AM – 9:00 PM
Why it’s special: Flying out soon? This branch is a lifesaver for travelers looking for a quick, filling meal before takeoff. It is also one of the first halal-certified spots in NAIA, serving up hot breakfasts, roti, and pulled milk tea daily.
Ayala Malls Manila Bay
Where to find it: Second Floor, Ayala Malls Manila Bay, Parañaque, Metro Manila
Store Hours: Mall Hours
Why it’s special: This branch is highly praised for keeping authentic spice levels intact and is also available for delivery via Foodpanda Philippines.
Keep an eye out if you're around the Bay Area! While maintenance and temporary schedule adjustments happen, this branch is another regular spot for their full menu rollout.
While we missed out on our planned Glorietta 4 food run, food hunting always comes with these little detours! The silver lining? Next time we’re catching a domestic flight at NAIA Terminal 3 or within Parañaque area, we already know exactly where we’re getting our pre-flight coffee and meal.
