Adapt an eco-friendly lifestyle. One way is to reduce the use of plastic bags because when plastic bags go to our water systems, they become trash that clog our water ways. This trash then decomposes and become liquid toxins that harm us, our environment and our water resources.
Another threat to marine life is global warming. It stems from greenhouse gases that trap the heat on Earth. This phenomenon is a worldwide concern for it destroys the natural environment, destructs weather and climatic conditions, kills marine and other forms of creatures including thousands of people. Help Reduce Global Warming by doing simple tasks like conserving electricity----turn off the light when not in use.
Engaging in clean-up drives is also highly encouraged. Join civic causes or dive groups that help clean the ocean. If you cannot swim, volunteer instead to shore clean-ups or make others be more aware of the damages to our water resources. This not only strengthens your value of volunteerism but it is also a way to meet new people and make new friends.
Another way to help Save our seas is to learn how to appreciate marine life the proper way. Look at them and be amazed by their beauty but do not touch or destroy them. Some of this marine life dies once you take it away from its natural habitat. Do not take them home as souvenirs of your trips.
